THE ANNUAL BRISASIA LIVE CREATIVE RESIDENCY

ABOUT THE CREATIVE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

BrisAsia Live is an annual creative residency program part of BrisAsia Festival. The fellowship is designed to offer one emerging visual artist an opportunity to:

collaborate and support a team of professional artists from diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds
expand their practice
network with professional artists
develop new creative assets and skills

ELIGIBILITY

The fellowship is open to an emerging visual artist with skills in paper cutting or equivalent, artwork installation i.e. print making. The program is open to creatives from an Asian background or who have a strong interest, knowledge and or experience working in Asian art forms and across Asian cultural practices. (Applicants must be aged 18+)

OUTCOMES

Successful applicants will work with artist Elysha Rei and a professional creative collective to create new visual art pieces during the BrisAsia Festival
Provided a stipend of $400 to support costs related to their participation

WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?

CREATIVE RESIDENCY (Tuesday 7 – Friday 10 February)

3 Full Days (workshop program Feb 07-10). Incl. 1 x Open Rehearsal (Feb 09) + 1 x Live Performance (Feb 10)

I understand that:
1. I will be required to be in Brisbane and fully available for the BrisAsia Live Residency from 1-19 Feb 2023 inclusive;
2. If I must travel to Brisbane, I will be responsible for arranging my own travel and the cost incurred;
3. The residency is part of Brisbane City Council’s BrisAsia Festival and will be delivered in compliance with all public health directives from the Queensland Government.
4. I will provide feedback to Sounds Across Oceans as required.
