We are thrilled to present this innovative and creative program designed especially for seniors to explore in a fun and caring environment the joy of music & movement. We invite you to join us and experience the benefits of playful creativity through music and movement.
The Tree of Life is a community wellbeing program presented by Sounds Across Oceans. The 8 week workshop series is designed to support the creative, emotional and social wellbeing of a diverse cross-section of our seniors community. The workshop program will combine exercises in meditation, music-making and movement facilitated by a collective of highly skilled and experienced teaching artists.
Musicians are encouraged to bring their instrument/s, whether you are a beginner or more advanced there is a place for you at Tree of Life. You will be guided to jam, improvise and create sound in a fun, experimental and liberating way.
Dancers bring your love of movement and dance as you work with one of Brisbane’s finest dancers to find your own rhythm and flow. No experience necessary just a willingness to collaborate, learn and have fun.
Venue: Nundah Memorial Hall
This space offers ample room for social distancing, beautiful acoustics, traditional wooden floor boards perfect for dancing, free parking and an inviting ambience for creative discovery.

COST: $ 120 for 8 weeks
Program Director Dr Anthony Garcia
Dr Garcia is the co-founder and artistic director of Sounds Across Oceans. He is accomplished guitarist, composer, educator and producer dedicated to building bridges between cultures and communities through innovative arts programming.
Director of Dance Sandi Woo
Sandi Woo is an award winning Brisbane-based independent producer, community development facilitator, and movement teaching artist. For over 25 years, Sandi has worked in the arts industry both as a freelancer and with established organisations in WA, NSW and Qld.
Supported by a team of experienced and caring teaching artists participants will be invited to have fun and get creative through music, dance and movement.
