Sounds Across Oceans acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which our events stand on, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples of Meanjin, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waterways.
Children and families will love Boomerang Banter – an artistic yarn between Indian Fusion singer Menaka Thomas and Indigenous artist and didgeridoo player Glenn Barry. Together the artists build a bridge between Indigenous Australian and Eastern cultures through sound and story. Through a delightful creative fusion the ancient cultural traditions of Indigenous Australia and Asia are celebrated, acknowledged and expressed. Traditional wisdom and contemporary artistry intersect as the artist’s banter helps young minds forge a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness with nature, the environment and the Earth that sustains us all.
